Ignite is a program for gifted and talented young people in South Australia, created in 1997 and formerly known as SHIP (Students with High Intellectual Potential). It is administrated by the South Australian Department of Education and Children's Services
The Ignite program is fast paced and contains less review and repetition than the normal curriculum
The students are selected for the Ignite program through an assessment designed by ACER commonly known as IGNITE TEST that is held every year in Feburary
- Year 6: : IGNITE PROGRAM ENTRY TEST 2022 (will be held on 26 February 2022)
- IGNITE PROGRAM ENTRY TEST 2023 (Not confirmed yet).
Participating Schools
There are 3 participating schools for this program:
- Glenunga International High School
- The Heights School
- Aberfoyle Park High School
All three participating schools use the ACER HAST(Higher Ability SelectionTest) exam as a first part of the selection process. The test consists of four sections.
